One last Senior

Wow it's been forever.  With all the video we did last session i had no time for a photoshoot, but now it's winter break and i am doing some jobs.

Yesterday i did my final senior shoot of the season.  It was fun and i like what i got, just glad i didn't forget how to do everything.

This is Chevy.

Personal MPV Project

Well this video is my Plan C. I was originally going to do an Alice in Wonderland movie trailer, but there is just not enough time to do that. My plan B was similar to this one but it was going to have actual video of a shoot and the editing. I was gonna do like a self interview, but it's week 6 and i couldn't get my model so here is plan C...just images lol. Enjoy.

Interview with Willie

Wow a whole session without a formal photo needing to be taken...i think i might go nuts. Well this session Dan, Kate, and I are taking the MPV motion picture class. We have two other assignments that we need to convert into quicktime movies, but our latest assignment was to do an interview. We chose to interview our friend Willie about being a surf photographer. The video showed in class today, and we were really pleased with the final result.

Thanksgiving!

Wow what a busy session. No photos in this post...and probably none for a while. I am currently taking an MPV (motion picture) class, so everyone should look for some youtube links here soon (i'm thinking next weekish).
Well i flew home to spend Thanksgiving with the family. It was a good day and a good visit so far. When i got in Wednesday i met up with some friends for a night of The Beatles Rock Band and Left 4 Dead 2 games, so much fun.
Today i helped my mom cook, we delivered some food baskets to the elderly, and i got to eat my traditional 2 Thanksgiving dinners, one at mom's and the other at dad's. I got all sentimental today also and decided to do one of those "what are you thankful for?" things and i wanted to share it.

in random order.

I am thankful for:
My parents for always supporting me in this crazy notion i have of being a photographer.

My Grandpa, because he keeps on kickin (and after this year that's a good thing)

My Friends
Maddy-because we just get each other
Ashley- cause she is always there
Mallory- because no one makes me laugh like she does
Matt- cause he's the best bro a guy could have
Dan- Because he's been around since 101 and he is not a whore
Kate- because you bundled my wish of a Harry Potter loving, British obsessed friend into one awesome mini cooper package.
Christina- How many people in the world can laugh but have no sound come out??? and you always keep me on a good path.
Willie- because you're legit, awesome, and talented

My Faith

My chance to do what i love every day.

I am thankful for the people i have known that have changed me, the experiences i have had that make me who i am, and the twists in life that make it all interesting.

The "Homicidal Housewife"

I promised Kate i would get these up. I did this shoot almost 6 months ago. The original inspiration came from our assignment called Gift and Gift incongruity. I got that inspiration from the "Dexter" billboards in LA. It's shocking but i love it.

Cleaning the hard drives

Well today while i was cleaning and organizing my hard drives i came across a folder called Flakey Models. It was the first time Dan, Kate and i all messed with the H2 cameras at school after Dan's model flaked on him. I found an image i took of kate and decided to do some retouching and come up with this.

I also found the second set of "Homicidal Housewife" i shot with kate as the model and plan on finishing that series up tonight also.

Prep Week!

Wow like always the end of the session was a blur. I had some images of our Cyanotyping and Van Dyke images we made so i wanted to share those along with some holga images that i am very happy with, and an image from our hand made album day.

These three holga images look amazing printed, i am very happy with them.

The Van Dyke process. That was a lot of fun.

and a shot from the hand made album day.

So along with the crazyness of the last few weeks of school my friend Christina got engaged! Her and Sam's wedding will be next summer and we all cannot wait!
I also got my Profoto D1's today! and i am super excited for that.
I plan on having a few updates this prep week and doing some shooting for me so stay tuned!

Images of Ashley

Here are the other images i got up at Naps. Ashley was swell enough to model for me in these.
This last one is not Ashley but one of the girls modeling for the workshop.

Before the two week Break

So class so far has been amazing. I love going to class for maybe 3 hours, then going out on location to use all these new techniques, and equipment. There are great people in the class, i LOVE the teacher (one of the best by far) and i love that i am inspired again to just experiment and do whatever i want. There is so much to shoot in the next 3 weeks, so much to plan, theme, edit, produce, prop, cast models, but i love it all. I am going to continue my disney theme for one of my portfolios, and i am working on a more abstract angel piece for my hand made portfolio.
So far we have shot with our Holgas, done an assignment to photograph our partner in a portrait, an environmental, and a fine art piece, and today we shot infrared. So here is some of what i have done so far.

The first set is just me and George (self portrait, and i shot george when he wasn't looking)
This is the Holga stuff. I think it's cool.

My partner for the persona shoot was Natalie (she's a lot of fun)

And this is the infrared stuff we shot today. Total experiment and i donno if i did it right lol.

Love this last image though.

I have some other images form the shoot today of fellow classmate Ashley, but i want to do some post to those first so check back tomorrow for those images.
